Virat and Anushka’s Ashram Visit: Internet Divided Over ‘PR Stunt’ Claims

While most fans appreciate Virat Kohli’s spiritual journey, a few have raised doubts. His visits to the ashram began after returning to India following the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT), where he scored only 190 runs in six innings.

Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma, and their family appear to be on a spiritual journey, with their recent visits to Premanandji Maharaj and Radhavallabh Lal Ji in Vrindavan sparking mixed reactions.

While many are inspired by the couple’s devotion ahead of the England series and the Champions Trophy, some fans are questioning the authenticity of these visits. The growing number of videos documenting every detail of their ashram visits has also raised eyebrows.

A new viral video shows the power couple visiting Radhavallabh Lal Ji in Vrindavan, just days after their visit to Premanandji Maharaj. Their frequent pilgrimages, both in India and abroad, have sparked debate among fans and on social media.

Questioning the Intentions

While most fans admire Kohli’s spiritual journey, others are skeptical, with some viewing these visits as potential PR stunts. This came after Kohli’s return to India following a less-than-stellar performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT), where he scored just 190 runs across six innings.

The discussion has ignited a debate on X (formerly Twitter). One user wrote: “Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s visit to seek blessings from Gurudev and Radhavallabh Lal Ji in Vrindavan reflects their deep faith and spiritual connection. May their devotion continue to inspire others on the path of spirituality.” Another user questioned the motives, asking, “Who’s recording this???”

Some expressed distrust, with one post commenting: “Can confirm fraud written all over his face. Abhi nahi toh thode saalon baad hi.”

who’s recording this??? https://t.co/dR271G09wo

Others compared the situation to Rohit Sharma’s recent trolling for receiving support from film actors, suggesting a PR move: “Vidya Balan tweeted for Rohit—‘man shameless PR oh god PR.’ Kohli is posting temple videos: ‘Man Krishna bhakt. What a man.’”

Meanwhile, Kohli and Sharma’s performance in the BGT and the disappointing 2024/25 Test cricket season have added to the scrutiny. In response, the BCCI is reportedly planning stricter protocols for Team India’s tours, including restrictions on family visits and transport arrangements, as detailed by ESPNcricinfo.

Family members will be allowed to join players for a limited period, depending on the length of the tour.
